For most of us, it’s not every day that you get behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and take it on a track, let alone get in some drifting. Throw in minus -20 degree temperatures and a whole lot of ice beneath your tires, and you have the Porsche Ice Experience.
Located around an hour north of Montreal, and hosted at the Estérel Resort, the Porsche Ice Experience lets drivers get behind the wheel of the latest models of luxury Porsches and take them for a spin, literally.
Featuring stations that teach you individual skills, and one amazing track that combines it all together, drivers are put to the ultimate mental and physical tests from some of the world’s top driving instructors.
Best of all, as nice as the Porsches are, you won’t have to worry about getting into a little crash because all the stations—and the track—are lined with crash friendly snow banks. The trick is to try not to be the one in your group that ends up there or you will get towed out by the ‘Cayenne of Shame.’
Fortunately for me, I just skimmed through the snow banks a few times but others weren’t so fortunate. Snow banks or not though, as good as the drive is, the après drive cocktails at the Estérel Resort and a dip in the Lido Thermal water therapy spa are the ultimate icing on the cake…..but try the cake there too. It’s amazing.
