Sneaker Crush: Our Favourite Converse Collaborator is Back for the Summer

Here's your chance.

If you missed it the first time around, now’s your chance to snag the buzziest sneakers off the London catwalk. The Run Star Hike, debuted in white on JW Anderson’s runway last fall, will be back in stores and online this week.

Now releasing in black, the distinctive extended sole featuring a blue star on the back was a challenge for the shoe’s designers. So, the EVA midsole of the Run Star was wrapped by a rubber heel wrap.

Who doesn’t love a good Frankenstein shoe? The Run Star Hike maintains the classic Chuck 70 upper but borrows its sole from the Converse Run Star for a platformed take on the classic shoe. Fused chunky sneakers are everywhere from Maison Margiela to Balenciaga, but in my opinion, JW Anderson does it best.

I knew I needed to own the Run Star Hike from the first moment I saw the new sneakers on creative director Jonathan Anderson’s Instagram. Alas, by the time I made my way to the site, they were sold out and I was put on a several weeks-long wait list before my phone finally dinged with a restock notification.

Needless to say, I hit purchase in record time.
