No NBA? No problem, Nike doesn’t appear to be stopping dropping the heat anytime soon.
Nike Basketball and Kyrie Irving just dropped the new colourway: Photon Dust/Green Strike. This sixth release is the latest of his signature shoe. The Kyrie 6, features a message which is ’There Is No Coming Back,’ — given the current situation around COVID-19, this sentiment rings eerily true for the time being. The design feels both retro and futuristic in its aesthetic. One things for certain: it’s dope.
The shoe is equipped with a mesh upper, with a neutral grey and white colour scheme on the base. The tongues have orange and purple paint accents with Nike logo and other branding. A neon green dripping Swoosh sits on the ankle with the text “There Is No Coming Back” etched overtop. A spacecraft design on the inner ankles and a glow-in-the-dark strap covering the laces push this design into outer space.
The Nike Kyrie 6 isn’t a new shoe, the first release came out on Nov. 11, 2019. The shoe pulls inspiration from the Air Yeezy 2 but with features like the Zoom turbo in the fore foot and 360 traction with a strap the construction of the shoe caters to basketball and movement. Made with leather, synthetic leather, and textile uppers.
Smaller elements that is included which we have seen on past releases includes the ‘hungry and humble’ mantra, all-seeing eye and his number 11.
