[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]With national restrictions lifting and life returning to normal, 2022 is set to be a year defined by renewed travel and entertainment. Last December, SCENE, one of Canada’s most popular rewards programs, expanded to help cater to this reinvigorated dynamic lifestyle. Through their partnership, SCENE and Scotia Rewards have merged to form an enhanced loyalty program now known as Scene+. The program allows users to earn rewards in different ways, booking travel through Scene+ Travel, Powered by Expedia, dining at one of Scene+’s partner restaurants, online shopping, or, of course, by heading to a Cineplex theatre.
While the original SCENE program awarded its members for their movie-going, entertainment, and dining experiences, Scene+ offers members the opportunity to earn and redeem points on daily purchases. Existing SCENE members were automatically transferred over to the new program, where they immediately started earning points on purchases through Rakuten and Expedia Group, and redeeming points on redemptions from Best Buy and Apple, to name a few. Scotiabank has also increased their offering of Scene+ banking products to eight total payment cards, for the fastest way to earn Scene+ points. New members can sign up easily online or through the mobile app. With many Canadians eager for the ability to travel once again, Scene+ is helping them earn points faster and redeem those points towards their next getaway. Members earn three points for every $1 spent on hotels or car rentals, offering the perfect way to streamline their return to domestic and international travel.

But even though the partnership has opened up a new world of point-collecting possibilities, members can still earn points at varying Rec Room, Playdium, and Cineplex locations. Members will earn one point for every $1 spent at Rec Room and Playdium and five points for every $1 spent at Cineplex or through the Cineplex Store. They also earn three points for every $1 spent on flights, rental cars or hotels, offering the perfect way to streamline their return to domestic and international travel.
Even though the new program has opened a new world of point-collecting possibilities, members can still earn and redeem at some of their favourite spots like Cineplex theatres, The Rec Room, and Playdium. Members will earn one point for every $1 spent at Rec Room and Playdium and five points for every $1 spent at Cineplex or through the Cineplex Store.
“The new Scene+ program is another sign of the red-hot loyalty market right now,” explains journalist and television host, Winston Sih. “Canadians love SCENE and Scotia Rewards, and seeing them combined as Scene+ really unlocks a whole new level of possibilities with dining, shopping, travel, and of course, movies. Being able to bring the two points systems together allows Canadians the ability to reach the next level of rewards that much faster, and that’s a big win for consumers.”
Years ago, movie-goers fell in love with the benefits that came from SCENE. The movie membership was a catalyst for Canadians looking to fund their Friday night excursions or experience movies as they were intended to be seen. Now, with Scene+, members can experience the same service with dynamic rewards that fit a wider array of lifestyles. As the world eases back into a state of normalcy, Scene+ is providing the perfect tool to support your next adventure, be that a visit to a local cinema or a well-earned vacation.
