A true farm-to-bottle experience.
You could go to school for oenology (the study of winemaking) or you could inherit the know-how in your blood. Tom Gore, a second-generation grape farmer from Sonoma County experienced the latter. Gore self-identifies as a farmer first, and a wine-producer second. After spending his life growing up in Northern California’s vineyards, Gore knew the key ingredient to making a good wine was a well-grown grape.
The company’s cabernet sauvignon is a deep red with cherry and currant aromas, and hints of dark chocolate and mocha from 16 months of aging in French and American oak barrels. Ontarians can now enjoy this fruit forward wine year-round because earlier this summer, it was listed as an LCBO Vintages Essential.
A dark red may not be your first choice for a summer barbeque, but once paired, minds will be changed. For Labour Day weekend, bring out a few bottles to share among family and friends around a bonfire or in your backyard as you enjoy classics including grilled steak, ribs or a juicy steak.
