Despite an array of companies rushing to enter the world of golf apparel, few have taken the time to do so with thought and intention towards properly balancing fashion and function. But now – four years after its initial introduction to the world of golf apparel – Michael Kors has arrived to deliver the tasteful performance gear you’ve been searching for.
This spring, Michael Kors has launched a new golf collection designed to refresh your look on the golf course – and, hopefully, your golf game as well (but if not, at least you’ll look the part).
MK Golf is a six-piece golf capsule that features shorts, chinos, polos, and long-sleeved shirts.
Combining function with style, the versatile collection balances classic design with modern, comfortable cuts. Unlike most recent collections which fail to prioritize quality materials, each MK Golf piece is designed to become a wardrobe staple for the polished golf enthusiast both on and off the golf course – likely, for years to come.
The collection’s classic polos are sweat-wicking and made from breathable and UV-protective stretch fabric. The tipped trim enhances its sporty appeal, while the three-button placket can be easily undone for a more relaxed feel. The go-to golf shirts are available in solid black, red, white, and midnight, along with two subtly patterned shirts. Michael Kors lettering is found on the right sleeve of all shirts. These polo shirts are easily styled with the collection’s chino pants for a smart yet casual look on the course.
Meanwhile, a quarter-zip golf sweater is knit from luxe merino wool and features a relaxed-cut fit that ensures optimal range of movement for that perfect golf swing. Available in three colours – midnight, blue, and red – it layers seamlessly with the matching polo shirt or casual t-shirt on leisurely weekends.
South African pro golfer and Masters champion Charl Schwartzel is the face of the new collection (and yes, he makes it look good), appearing decked head-to-toe in MK Golf in action shots on the course. In 2018, Michael Kors first launched a co-branded golf capsule with the US Golf Association for the 118th US Open at Shinnecock Hills. The partnership saw Schwartzel as the brand’s first golf ambassador wearing Michael Kors Men’s apparel throughout his worldwide tour appearances, which include PGA, European, and Sunshine tour events.
With Schwartzel’s stamp of approval, this golf gear not only looks good on the green but also clearly shines in the performance department. Body temperature matters and can impact your golf game. So can clothing that’s either too restrictive or too bulky. That’s why cut and material are so important – something MK Golf has taken into consideration in its fusion of fashion with function. Body temperature can impact your golf game, as well as clothing that’s either too restrictive or too bulky, but MK Golf features carefully considered cuts and materials that fuse fashion with function.
Not to mention, the added confidence that comes with knowing you look great could very well transfer over into your golf game (hey, it happens).
The new golf collection will be sold at MichaelKors.com, HarryRosen.com, Michael Kors Ste. Catherine locations, and a selection of Green Grass wholesale locations.
