Earlier this week, GLORY Media hosted its inaugural GLORY Sports Summit 2024, bringing together 200 athletes, sports executives, marketers, brand managers, influencers, and more into one room to discuss the world of sports.
Held at Toronto’s Makeway (a woman-owned and operated business), the afternoon included a full program of panels and interviews that discussed everything from building personal brands, pay equity, career navigation, and the future of women’s sports. Upon arrival, attendees were greeted with bottles of FIJI Water and a coffee and pastry station before kicking off programming. Professional athletes, along with representatives from NBA Canada, PWHL, Canadian Olympic Committee, AFC Toronto, Canada Basketball, General Electric, Lululemon, Roots, and many more were all in attendance, making for an impactful room of decision-makers and influencers.
Panelists joined host and GLORY Editor-in-Chief, Lance Chung, on stage (wearing Canadian jewelry brand Mejuri) to discuss today’s most pressing topics in sports culture, and included PWHL players Emerance Maschmeyer and Emma Maltais, Olympians Genevieve Lacasse and Piper Gilles, NBA leader Leah MacNab, AFC Toronto CEO Helena Ruken, and many more. Concluding the programming, host Lance Chung ended the day by announcing the upcoming 2025 GLORY Sports Summit.
Guests were then treated to an ice cream truck and networking cocktail, which featured drinks from Hennessy and wine from Southbrook Wines. Inbetween sampling fragrances from PUIG Canada and Carolina Herrera fragrances, attendees also took in sports-inspired artwork throughout the space from Toronto’s The Local Gallery, which included ceramic sneakers, canvas paintings, and even a Simpson-inspired heavybag.
