Earlier this month, Platform Media & Management, one of Canada’s leading influencer talent agencies, hosted their first annual influencer marketing conference—Platform Social.

Hosted at Hotel X, Platform Social welcomed over 300 leading professionals in the influencer and content creation business including Madelyn Chung (founder of The RepresentASIAN Project), Christina Mychaskiw (creator of the Minimalist-ish Method), Sabrina Stavenjord (Content Creator, Food Network Canada), and many more of the industry’s finest.

In a hyper competitive industry that is often exciting but can sometimes seem cut throat, Platform Social has created a space for professionals to meet, get inspired, and share ideas so that everyone can succeed together. The inviting, community-centric atmosphere of the event is a testament to the company’s confidence and goodwill, and to the warmth of the content creator and influencer community in Toronto.

Aside from networking, the esteemed guests also had the opportunity to learn from a wide range of expert panels led by moderators Tyrone Edwards (ETalk Anchor), and Laura deCarufel (The Kit, Editor-in-Chief).

The panels covered diverse topics such as Breaking Down Barriers in Influencer Marketing, Winning Content Strategies, and The Future of Influencer Marketing. Insights were also shared by guest speakers from Pinterest, Snapchat, Hashtag Paid, and Indigo, as well as Award Winning Singer, Songwriter & Actor Jully Black and Artist Vivek Shraya.

The event was presented by  brands such as Geox and Hayu, and guests were treated to gift bags valued at over $500 CAD filled with goodies from sponsors such as Shark, Indigo, Joe Fresh, Philips Sonicare, Aveda, David’s Tea, and MAC Cosmetics.

Platform Social was the place to be for professionals in the content creation and influencer industry, and the event displayed a level of Canadian excellence we can all be proud of.
