While the starship won’t be in the film, the designs will be unveiled at the film’s world premiere on Dec. 20. Named the Tri-Wing S-91X Pegasus, the starship offers the best of both worlds and pulls inspiration from various Porsche automobiles, including the Taycan, 911 and 918 Spyder.

The automobile maker’s contributions to the design pay tribute to the sleek, agile body Porsche is known for without losing any of the futuristic edge people have come to expect from Star Wars designs. The worldwide appeal of the Star Wars and Porsche brands is shaped decisively by their iconic designs,” said Doug Chiang, Vice President and Executive Creative Director of Lucasfilm in a press release. Chiang is responsible for overseeing all designs for the Star Wars franchise.

“We are bringing together two worlds with this project: the exotic film design of a galaxy far, far away and the precision work that goes into developing emotive Porsche sports cars,” said Chiang in the release.

In addition to the public unveiling of the designs at the “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker” premiere tomorrow, Porsche will also be showcasing their first all-electric car – the Taycan – at the event, which launched in early September.
