The snow storms and long days in the office has us cooped up indoors so why not enjoy a Gulab cocktail from Byblos that will remind us of a simpler time.
This alcoholic beverage, which is essentially a lemonade jazzed up with rosewater, is made to bring refreshment in your day, or night. After adding Smirnoff vodka with dried and edible roses for two to three days, the booze is matched with pomegranate reduction, a house cardamom tincture and some lemon. This will result in a fresh beverage that showcases the floral tastes with enough acidity while still remaining sweet.
Ingredients:
- 3⁄4 oz. Lemon juice
- ¾ oz. Pomegranate Juice
- ¼ oz. Simple Syrup
- 1 1⁄2 oz. Ketel vodka
- ½ tsp. Rose water
Method:
Add all the ingredients, except the garnish and the rose essence, to a shaker. Fill with ice and shake. Strain the mixture into a copper julep glass. Fill with crushed ice and garnish. Spray rose water on top and serve.
